DESCRIPTION:
The Model UDA-200 is a USB 2.0 to IDE Converter. This high speed connection is better suited for use with Hard Disk Drives, CDRoms, CD-R\W and DVDRom drives than the older USB 1.1 standard. The electronics is built into the connector housing, which contains a standard 40-pin hard drive connector. The converter itself is powered from the USB connection. A power supply, with a standard 4-pin disk drive power connector, is also included. Software drivers for Windows 98, 98SE, ME, XP* and 2000* are supplied.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS:
A USB 2.0 connection is necessary to take full advantage of the high-speed interface, but the unit is backward compatible with slower USB 1.1. Add-in Cards are available to upgrade your computer to USB 2.0. You can add most any type of portable storage to your PC using the UDA-200. It is compatible with IDE/EIDE/ATAPI devices, including Hard Disk Drives, CDROM drives, CD-R/W drives, DVD-ROM drives and LS-120 drives. A CDROM, included, contains all necessary software drivers.
*Windows XP and 2000 automatically detects the UDA-200 without installing drivers.
